CRCBR: Broker-in-Charge Update Course (Wed. 3 May, 2017 8:00 am - 12:00 pm)

This course is being given by the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of REALTORS®. Please refer all questions to them at 704-377-8982.

The 2016-17 Commercial Broker-in-Charge Update Course (BICUP) satisfies the mandatory update course for brokers-in-charge who wish to remain broker-in-charge as of July 1, 2017 for the 2017-18 licensing period. It is a modified version of the standard BICUP which uses commercially relevant content and examples. Only licensees who are brokers-in-charge or broker-in-charge eligible will receive credit for this course. CRCBR strongly recommends that commercial practitioners take the commercial version of the BICUP or GenUp, as applicable.

This course is being given by the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of REALTORS®. Please refer all questions to them at 704-377-8982.

The 2016-17 Commercial GenUp will provide Commission updates about requirements, revised rules and laws, selected topics, licensing and education review, and more. PLEASE NOTE: BICs and BIC-eligible brokers must take the BIC Update. CRCBR strongly recommends that commercial practitioners take the commercial version of the BICUP or GenUp, as applicable.

GRI: Balancing Business Risks & Ethics (Wed. 3 May, 2017 8:30 am - 5:00 pm)

This course provides an integrated study of the daily legal issues and risk management concerns that occur in the business of real estate, and the REALTOR® Code of Ethics. Many of the provisions of the Code of Ethics can be paired with state and federal real estate statutes, rules, and requirements. 

The provisions of the Code of Ethics will be examined alongside state and federal statutes to illustrate their interaction, and to provide an understanding of the relationship between the requirements, regardless of their source.

CRCBR: From Heaven to Hell: Air, Surface & Subsurface (Wed. 3 May, 2017 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

This is a timely course that deals with the issues related to oil/mineral rights, including fracking, contract issues and title and homeowners insurance problems. The teacher will include a review of air and water rights as well. This course received the 2014 Real Estate Education Program of the Year.

2017 NC REALTORS® Conference Scholarship and Mentor Program Application Deadline (All day)

The 2017 NC REALTORS® Conference & Expo – XCHANGE ‘17 – will be hosted at The Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC on September 17-19, 2017, and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The NC REALTORS® Conference Scholarship and Mentor Program was designed to help those new to the industry – or just new to the NC REALTORS®’ annual conference – get involved and make the most of their conference experience.

These scholarships cover the cost of a registration fee and hotel accommodations at The Omni Grove Park Inn for the evenings of Sunday, September 17 and Monday, September 18. Transportation, food and entry to special events outside the conference schedule are not included. If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, please submit an application by May 15, 2017. Five scholarships are available and the winners will be selected by the Conference Committee and notified by June 1, 2017.

Each scholarship recipient will be assigned a mentor to help navigate and network at conference. Mentors are qualified leaders at the state level who have previously attended NC REALTORS®’ annual conferences and are looking to invest in the next generation of NC REALTORS®. The Conference Committee will select five mentors based off responses given, and pair them with scholarship winners. Mentors will also be recognized at conference. If you would like to serve as a mentor, please submit an application by May 15, 2017.
