2020 NAR Leadership Academy Class Announced

NC REALTORS® is proud to announce two of our members, Teresa Pitt and Kelly Benton, have been inducted into the NAR Leadership Academy Class of 2020. The NAR Leadership Academy identifies, inspires, and mentors emerging leaders from the local and state level for the National Association of REALTORS®.

Kelly Benton

With 26 years of experience in the real estate industry, Kelly is extremely involved in her state and local REALTOR® associations. After experiencing NC REALTORS® William C. Bass Leadership Academy and learning from our state commissioners, Kelly is now looking forward to additional education and the opportunity to learn from great leaders across the country. Kelly serves as NC REALTORS® Housing Foundation Vice President and NC REALTORS® Disaster Trustee along with other roles at her local board, Union County Association of REALTORS®. “The connection with fellow REALTORS® in my community has served as support, an avenue for growth, and sharpening. When we are united locally, statewide, and nationally, we are a powerful source of information and action for our clients and our industry. The involvement at each level calls us to a higher standard of professionalism, accountability, and giving back.”, Benton says.

Teresa Pitt

Teresa Pitt has been a REALTOR® for 25 years. Throughout her career, she has learned, “You don’t set out to become a leader, you seek to serve and hope that by serving you make a difference.” Pitt holds many leadership positions in her local and state REALTOR® associations and is a graduate of the NC REALTORS® William C. Bass Leadership Academy. Pitts sought out NAR’s Leadership Academy with the desire to make an impact on the national level. She holds several NAR designations and certifications including ABR, CRS and GRI. Some of the proudest moments in her career have been mentoring and encouraging the REALTOR® community to get involved in volunteerism and disaster relief efforts.

Benton and Pitt will join sixteen other REALTORS ® across the country in a 10-month program designed to prepare emerging state and local volunteers for future leadership roles at NAR.
