NC REALTORS® 2019 Innovation Grant Recipients
Greensboro, North Carolina (July 10, 2019) – Three local REALTOR® associations were recently awarded 2019 Innovation Grants by NC REALTORS®. Charlotte Region Commercial Board of REALTORS® (CRCBR), Land Of The Sky Association of REALTORS® (LOTSAR) and Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® (RRAR) each received a $5,000 grant. The grant program funds innovative community programs across the state, which closely align with the REALTOR® mission and values. NC REALTORS® sought out programs, events, or plans that change the way the real estate industry is perceived or how business is conducted with an emphasis on promoting affordable housing.
“We are excited about the work our local associations are doing within their communities, elevating the REALTOR® brand,” stated Andrea Bushnell, Esq., CEO of NC REALTORS®. “This grant program acknowledges the powerful impact of REALTORS® across the state, and the associations rewarded with this round of grant funding excelled in delivering value to our members and communities through innovative thinking and programming.”
CRCBR’s vision is to provide a greater voice to commercial real estate in the Charlotte region. They would work with the new SiteIndex (our commercial real estate information/listing exchange) and provider Catylist, to improve the data for commercial real estate, in order to produce quarterly market reports. Within commercial real estate, listings are tied to specific properties and prior leasing and sales data are critical to accurate market information. For the board to have a stronger voice “of commercial real estate” in the community, the data quality must be enhanced and improved.
LOTSAR, in conjunction with other community partners, has developed a scholarship program: REAP(Real Estate Apprenticeship Program.) The goal of REAP is to expand outreach and engage diverse groups by educating participants on a career in real estate. REAP advances a real estate related public policy issue by encouraging and facilitating diversity within LOTSAR membership. REAP advocates for several real estate related local government/community initiatives. REAP directly advances these goals, among other community initiatives.
RRAR’s goal is to create a multilevel and diverse news outlet wherein they are creating content covering all aspects of REALTOR® life and business and association services. By creating a mechanism and set up to create more dynamic and interactive media materials outside of an empty room or office, they will be able to utilize this space to advocate for REALTOR® and consumer public policy issues in a formal setting, and be able to bring community leaders and elected officials in for exclusive interviews and idea sharing.
