Three local REALTOR® associations were recently awarded 2023 Innovation Grants by NC REALTORS®. Charlotte Region Commercial Board of REALTORS®, Greensboro Regional and Burke County Association of REALTORS® each received a $5,000 grant. The grant program funds innovative community programs across the state, which closely align with the REALTOR® mission and values. NC REALTORS® sought out programs, events, or plans that change the way the real estate industry is perceived or how business is conducted with an emphasis on promoting affordable housing.

Burke County Board of REALTORS® plans to to educate potential Spanish-speaking property owners on the home purchasing process by creating Spanish speaking videos that outline and detail the most important aspects of the process. 1. Charlotte Region Commercial Board of REALTORS® (CRCBR) plan to launch the CRE Core Concept Series. This series is designed to bring together a faculty of industry leaders and top producers to teach the fundamentals of commercial real estate, including segments on office, retail, industrial and land. Five courses are offered over three weeks, allowing students to concurrently tend to business while learning. A certificate of completion is awarded to students who attend all five classes.

The Greensboro Regional REALTORS® Association’s  Local Government 101: Guide to Participating in City Meetings and Understanding Meeting Decorum is informational guide that will be distributed as a video that educates the public and REALTOR® members on the basic rules and procedures governing public local government meetings (i.e., city council meetings, public input hearings, planning and zoning commission meetings), as well as best practices and tips on how to appropriately speak during public comment and submit written comments.
