NC REALTORS® William C. Bass Leadership Academy Announces Class of 2019
The NC REALTORS® William C. Bass Leadership Academy recently selected its Class of 2019, including members that geographically represent the majority of the state. The candidates are:

Sandy Stewart, Mid Carolina Regional Association of REALTORS®

Adam Upchurch, Topsail Island Association of REALTORS®
Katie J. Wangrin, Land of the Sky Association of REALTORS®
Candidates were selected by an anonymous, Candidate Selection Committee of NC REALTORS® members and were chosen based on interest in elevating their personal and professional leadership skills, commitment to the industry, future potential as a REALTOR® and leader in the industry, and personal and professional characteristics to ensure a “diverse, non-discriminatory, geographically representative and forward-thinking” class.
The NC REALTORS® William C. Bass Leadership Academy is a ten-month training and development program exclusively for NC REALTORS® that identifies, inspires and mentors emerging leaders in real estate. This leadership development program is designed to guide each participant through their own self-discovery process and teach the necessary skills to become a more positive influence within the community and the industry. The academy is open to all NC REALTORS® in good standing.
Courses begin in December with five retreats during the year across North Carolina including one retreat in Chicago, IL visiting the National Association of REALTORS® headquarters. It concludes with the graduation ceremony during the NC REALTORS® Convention & Expo in September.
“Embracing leadership and all of the qualities and characteristics that make a good leader great is the foundation for the NC REALTORS® William C. Bass Leadership Academy,” stated Stephanie Walker, ABR, CRS, GRI, RSPS, SFR, SRES, president of Stephanie Walker and Associates and NC REALTORS® 2016 REALTOR® of the Year. “As one of the early academy graduates, I personally witnessed and experienced the value it creates for the association, industry and REALTOR® graduates.”
In 2016, the official name of the program was changed to honor of William C. Bass – an NC REALTOR® with a legacy of leadership and dedication to REALTORS®, the association, and the industry. Bass was also an early champion of the academy and helped steward its success throughout the years.
