Bias Override: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing helps interrupt stereotypical thinking to avoid fair housing pitfalls and provide equal professional service. Participants will examine the history of bias in real estate, learn about the mind science of identity, study how implicit bias can result in fair housing violations and engage in interactive exercises to enhance communication skills and business relationships with clients of all backgrounds.

Currently, Tikola serves as the President of the Charlotte Crown REALTIST Association, where she provides exceptional leadership and inspires others within the real estate community. Additionally, she holds the esteemed position of 2021 President of the Union County Association of Realtors®, solidifying her expertise and influence in the field.
Tikola’s passion for inclusivity and diversity is evident through her involvement with the National Association of REALTORS® Leadership Academy’s 2024 class, known as NARLA. As a member of this highly regarded program, she is equipped with the knowledge and skills to drive positive change within the real estate industry.
Furthermore, Tikola plays a vital role in promoting diversity as the 2024 Chair of the NC REALTORS® Diversity Committee and as a member of the NAR Fair Housing Policy Committee. Through these positions, she actively works towards infusing diversity into the real estate industry and creating generational wealth for communities.
In recognition of her expertise and influence, Tikola has been appointed to the National Government Affairs Committee of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB). This appointment further highlights her commitment to shaping policies and advocating for the interests of real estate professionals and homeowners on a national level.
As a licensed instructor authorized by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission, Tikola is dedicated to educating both consumers and real estate professionals on fair housing issues. Her involvement as Board Chairwoman, Community Outreach Chair, and Membership Chair for the local REALTIST Association has provided her with valuable insights into the importance of education within the industry.
Tikola’s overarching goal is to raise awareness and advocate for advocacy within each Association she serves. She strives to expand participation, reach, involvement, and effectiveness in the ever-growing Charlotte market and the real estate industry as a whole. By prioritizing community education on significant issues, Tikola is poised to make a substantial and positive impact in our ever-evolving profession.

To cancel a class: Login to the NC REALTORS® website. Find your class under “Upcoming Events” on the Member Dashboard or by locating the class you want to cancel on the NC REALTORS® calendar. Under registration details, you will see an option to “Cancel”. On the following page, select “Submit Cancellation”.
NCR reserves the right to cancel/change any course at any time. If a course is canceled, you will be notified as soon as possible. You will receive either a full refund or, if rescheduled, you may transfer to the new date.
