Why I love what I do: I like to see the light bulbs go off in class

Favorite work story: When a developer, I had the surveyor set out flags on a site, showing the boundaries. This was on a Friday as I was meeting a big investor at the airport on Monday and we were touring in a helicopter.  When we reached the site, the investor said in heavily accented English, “So the site is round?”  I looked over and sure enough, the flags were in a large circle.  Upon closer inspection, there were bicycle tire marks inside the circle.  Apparently the neighborhood children had pulled up my flags over the weekend and made their own motocross!  We had a good laugh and I took my investor to a great bakery in Matthews.  We resumed our tour via car.

What I’m most proud of in my career:  A CCIM scholarship in my name
