#MemberMonday: Doug Nunnally
Welcome to #MemberMonday, a weekly feature that spotlights one of our awesome NC REALTORS®. This week’s member is Doug Nunnally!
Name: Doug Nunnally
Hometown: Richmond, VA
Current location: Fayetteville, NC
Title: Just a Broker now after 8 years as a Broker-in-Charge – Keller Williams Realty, Fayetteville
Number of years in the industry: 16 years active, licensed a lot longer
Why I love what I do: I am given the opportunity to help individuals and families find their HOME to begin new memories or sell their home to move to the next chapter in their life. I have also been blessed to help new and seasoned agents with their business growth and development.
Favorite work story: While showing properties to a new buyer couple, a client who had purchased a house in the neighborhood a couple years previously stopped her car in the middle of the street with her 2 children in the back seat, rolled down the window and shouted out: “Is that my favorite agent?” Which I replied: “Always!!!” Of course, I had to excuse myself from my buyer for a moment to go hug Karen’s neck and say hi to Caroline and Stu.
What I’m most proud of in my career: There are 3 events. In 2015, I was selected First Place Best Real Estate Agent by the Fayetteville Observer’s Readers Choice Awards. When my peers elected me President of the Fayetteville Regional Association of REALTORS® in 2012 and when I was awarded the REALTOR® of the Year by them in 2014. Fayetteville Regional Association of REALTORS® is now Longleaf Pine REALTORS®.
Why I’m a member of NC REALTORS®: When you first join a firm, you have to join NAR, NCR and the local Association. Shortly after that, I came to realize why we must be involved in our Associations. While serving on local committees I began to understand the important role the REALTORS® play in home ownership and property rights beyond the buying and selling of real estate. Now I realize why I must be walking the halls of our NC Legislative Building and Congress to communicate with our elective officials. There is also the necessary of our NCR Professional Standards Committee, which I am a member, to help all of us to be better and to help protect the public. I have to give back if I want to make North Carolina through our Associations a better place to live, work and play.
Fun Fact: US Army (Vietnam Veteran); Computer Programmer & Insurance Agent, all are great background jobs to help me be a better real estate broker and REALTOR®.
