Why I love what I do
I love working with first time home buyers. Helping them navigate through the real estate purchase from my buyers’ consultation to the closing and beyond. It makes my heart swell when people come back to me and send their friends/family to me as well.
Favorite work story
There is never a dull moment in our office! My favorite work story is probably not appropriate for printing but fun is a big word here. The laughter down the halls as we run around in Chewbacca masks and clap tiny hands. The pranks of putting ketchup in brownie bites in hopes that someone falls for biting into it. The living Elf on the Shelf and door decorating contest featuring the men of RE/MAX at Christmas. The puppy kisses and popcorn Fridays. The meetings in the bathrooms during a power outage. And those are just a couple of experiences at our office. I say we are the most fun office in town yet we still have time to make our clients a priority!
What I’m most proud of in my career
As an REO agent it has never been easy to displace a family during an eviction process but it is part of my job. I had one family who had gotten foreclosed on and we had to go through the eviction process. His family had to move out after falling on hard times. We were both in tears at the eviction. I worked hard to get them to be able to repurchase the home from the bank with financial assistance from extended family. I was able to hand the keys back to them just a couple of weeks later. Tears were also shed at that closing!
Why I’m a member of NC REALTORS®
Real estate is all about relationships. I have built great friendships with many local and statewide Realtors® from my attendance at the annual conference, legislative days, and more. I also love the support that Realtors® get from fellow Realtors® and our staff at NCR.
Fun Fact
My motto in life is work hard, play hard and I accomplish that pretty well! I love to travel and love to have a good time wherever I go. My favorite family vacation was a trip with my husband and three kids to Yellowstone for ten days. We also love escaping on a cruise. It allows me to purposefully turn my phone off and disconnect from real estate for a Real Estate Recharge. I come back refreshed and ready to hit the ground running. I don’t apologize for vacations and agents that think they need to be connected 24/7 with their clients are going to burn out. I set the expectations for my clients when I am gone and have coverage for my absence.
