Potential Problems in Taking Listings Outside the U.S.
Have you been approached to assist in a real estate transaction outside of the U.S.? If so, always remember to do your due diligence before engaging in the practice of real estate in a foreign jurisdiction. NAR’s Director of Global Strategy and Engagement, Joe Schneider, has written the following letter to remind REALTORS® of the risks involved in engaging in foreign real estate transactions, and to promote the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) directory which may assist you in finding a CIPS designee to consult on the transaction.
